Salman Rushdie Stabbed in Revenge Attack, 34 Years in the Making
Famous author and wearer of a 34-year long fatwa Salman Rushdie, has just been stabbed multiple times on a stage he was scheduled to lecture on in western New York.
BRIAN SOCKINGTON: Famous author and wearer of a 34-year long fatwa Salman Rushdie, has just been stabbed multiple times on a stage he was scheduled to lecture on in western New York. The alleged suspect is 24-year-old Hadi Matar who has been arrested at the scene. Rushdie sustained significant injuries to an eye, arm and his liver in the gruesome attack. It is unknown whether the 1989 fatwa calling for Rushdie’s death the release of his award winning novel, The Satanic Verses, had anything to do with the attacks.
Government health officials have yet to rule out Long-Covid as a cause of Rushdie’s injuries and have encouraged him to protect himself and others by receiving his boosters vaccines while in hospital.
